1. Acceptance of Terms

By creating an account or using ComplianceShield, you agree to these Terms of Service. If you do not agree, do not use the service. ComplianceShield is operated by ComplianceShield ("we", "us", "our").

2. Service Description

ComplianceShield is a compliance-checking tool that scans Etsy listings for potential policy violations, including trademark issues, AI disclosure requirements, production partner rules, and prohibited items. The service provides automated suggestions but does not guarantee compliance with Etsy's policies.

3. Not Legal or Official Advice

ComplianceShield is not affiliated with Etsy, Inc.and does not provide legal advice. Our compliance checks are based on publicly available Etsy policies and are provided on a best-effort basis. We do not guarantee that passing a ComplianceShield scan means your listing complies with all Etsy policies. You are solely responsible for ensuring your listings comply with Etsy's terms, applicable laws, and intellectual property rights.

4. Account and Access

• You must provide accurate information when creating an account.
• You are responsible for maintaining the security of your account credentials.
• You must be at least 18 years old to use the service.
• We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these terms.

5. Etsy Shop Connection

When you connect your Etsy shop, you grant us read-only access to your listing data through the Etsy API. We will never modify, create, or delete your Etsy listings. You can disconnect your shop at any time, which immediately revokes our access.

6. Subscriptions and Payments

• Free accounts are limited to 5 scans per month.
• Paid subscriptions (Pro and Business) are billed monthly through Stripe.
• You can cancel your subscription at any time. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period.
• Refunds are handled on a case-by-case basis. Contact us within 7 days of a charge for refund requests.
• We reserve the right to change pricing with 30 days' notice to existing subscribers.

7. Acceptable Use

You agree not to:

• Use the service for any unlawful purpose.
• Attempt to reverse-engineer, scrape, or extract our compliance rules or trademark databases.
• Share your account credentials or allow others to access your account.
• Use automated tools to access the service beyond normal usage patterns.
• Resell or redistribute scan results as a competing service.

8. Limitation of Liability

ComplianceShield is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind. To the maximum extent permitted by law, we are not liable for any damages arising from your use of the service, including but not limited to: Etsy listing removals, shop suspensions, lost revenue, or intellectual property disputes. Our total liability is limited to the amount you paid for the service in the 12 months preceding any claim.

9. Intellectual Property

All content, features, and functionality of ComplianceShield (excluding your Etsy listing data) are owned by us and protected by copyright and other intellectual property laws. Your Etsy listing data remains yours at all times.

10. Changes to Terms

We may update these terms from time to time. We will notify you of material changes via email. Continued use of the service after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated terms.
